Products and research methods for detecting drugs of abuse, psychotropic substances and medicaments in keratin matrix through immunoassay screening techniques.

Comedical’s patented VMA-T line consists of a series of products such as VMA-T Reagent, Washing Solution, and Calibrators. It includes analytical methods and controls designed to assay and screen for drugs of abuse, psychotropic substances, and medications in hair. It utilizes the same reagents in a homogeneous phase and the same automated instrumentation commonly found in urine immunoassay screening tests.

Through a simple and quick procedure, the VMA-T Reagent extracts all major classes of drugs from the keratin matrix, including opiates, cocaine, amphetamines, ecstasy, cannabinoids, methadone, buprenorphine, and benzodiazepines.

Additionally, the VMA-T Reagent converts cocaine into benzoylecgonine and a significant portion of 6-Monoacetylmorphine into morphine. This transformation facilitates quantitative assays of the extracted substances using all commonly employed immunoassay screening techniques such as EMIT, Cedia, DRI, and Kims.

VMA-T Reagent

Ready-to-use solution for the simultaneous extraction of drugs of abuse, psychotropic substances and medicaments from hair through hydrolysis method at 100°C. The obtained supernatant assays the substances extracted through immunoassay screening tools and reagents commonly used in urine drug tests.

TricoCheck Controls for SCREENING

Tricocheck Controls for quantitative immunoassays and LC/MS/MS and GC/MS confirmation. Tricocheck utilizes authentic hair that is cut and washed, infused with specified substances, and processed like routine samples. Depending on the type of product and its intended use, the concentration of the substances is categorized by class of analytes. These substances are then analyzed using immunoassay screening techniques, as well as LC/MS/MS and/or GC/MS methods.
